If you are like me, you are surrounded by daily updates about COVID and the response to it from private and government entities. I know it is a little overwhelming for me, so I know it is probably a little overwhelming for you. You are probably considering the impact of the school on more than your child’s education. We understand the decisions we have been making impact your job, your relationships, and to that extent, Cascade’s ability to function.

This is why I am so excited to finally be able to announce a plan on which we have worked diligently to protect your children while still fulfilling our mission of engaging every student every day in character development and rigorous education.

The balance of these two things takes a lot of detail. We have broken the plan down into areas that matter the most to you in the links to the right.

I know there is the potential for disagreement in some areas of our plan. But, I truly believe that the only way we get through this together is to focus on what we do agree on for the good of our community and our children. If we can agree on how important it is for your children to receive character development and rigorous education while entrusted to our care, the rest becomes the details that we will work through as they arise.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the plan, there is a form provided below for you to reach out to us.

Thank you for the trust you place in us. It is going to be a great school year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Attendance: If my student has symptoms and is required to quarantine, will they be counted as absent?

A: No, we have a Remote Learning Program available that allows students to continuously engage in rigorous education even while at home! As long as they meet these requirements, they will not be counted as absent.

Q: Health: How can you be sure my child will be safe from community spread while at school?
A:  We take your child's health very seriously. That is the reason for the plans listed above. If you haven't read them yet, you may find the precautions we are taking, sufficient. If you still aren't sure or if your family has special circumstances, we provide a Remote Learning Program (RLP) where you may keep your child away from the school and still allow them to receive a rigorous education. Contact the school for more information about our RLP.
