Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Cascade School District, nestled in the heart of Idaho's stunning mountains, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team as a contractor. This position offers the unique opportunity to make a profound impact in the lives of young learners with special needs in a close-knit, family-oriented school district.

Position Overview

The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to preschool-aged students with developmental delays or disabilities. This professional will design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborate with families, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote each child's success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create, monitor, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with Idaho state and federal laws.

  • Provide Specialized Instruction: Design and assist to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons tailored to the unique needs of each child.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with families, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other staff to ensure cohesive support for students.

  • Monitor Progress: Assess and document student growth using a variety of evaluation tools, modifying strategies as needed.

  • Foster Relationships: Build trust and maintain effective communication with families to support students both at school and at home.

  • Advocate: Actively participate in Child Find activities and outreach to identify and serve children who qualify for services.

  • Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices, policies, and strategies in early childhood special education.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education or a closely related field.

  • Certification: Hold or be eligible for Idaho Certification in Early Childhood Special Education (Blended EC/ECSE Endorsement preferred).

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children aged 3–5 in a special education setting is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a genuine love for working with young children.
