Child Nutrition Program

Cascade Schools has an amazing kitchen staff that prepares delicious meals for your student(s).  The menu was recently redesigned to create new meal choices while keeping all the student favorites.  Each meal is designed to meet and/or exceed the USDA guidelines for a healthy entrée while expanding the students palates.

Nutrition Guidelines

The Richard B Russell National School Lunch Act requires school meals to reflect the recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Minimum standards for school meals are essential to help ensure that all schools nationwide follow uniform, science-based standards to deliver wholesome meals in the most efficient and effective way.

For grades K-12 dietary specifications for calories, sodium and saturated fat are in place to limit the risk of chronic diseases. The five components of a school lunch include fruits, vegetables, grains, meats/meat alternatives and fluid milk.
