| | Dear Cascade Families,We’re officially in that exciting stretch of the school year—you know, the one where everyone is hanging on by a thread, counting the days until Spring Break like it’s the last episode of their favorite show.
But before we get there, let’s talk about survival strategies (for both students AND parents)! The next few weeks can feel long, so here are a few Spring Break Prep Tips to help everyone make it across the finish line: 🥦 Eat something green (No, not leftover St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes—real veggies. Your brain will thank you.) 💤 Encourage sleep (Yes, teenagers can, in fact, survive without their phones for 8 hours. We promise.) 📚 Keep up with schoolwork (Procrastination is fun… until you’re pulling an all-nighter before break.) 🚶♂️ Get outside (Sunshine = instant mood boost. Plus, it helps burn off that extra energy!) 😂 Laugh often (Parenting is a wild ride, and sometimes, all you can do is laugh!)
We appreciate you, your support, and your partnership in helping our students finish strong before break. Keep up the great work, and hang in there—we’re all in this together! | | Planet Youth in Cascade 2024-2025 (Grades 6-12)On March 4th, a survey on the well-being of youth will be administered amongst students in Cascade. This is an opt-in survey for families, so please be on the lookout for a signature form.
Students in 6th - 12th grades will fill out an anonymous and confidential questionnaire, including questions on their health, behavior, substance use, and well-being. The information gathered from the questionnaires cannot be traced back to individual students. The survey will take about 40 minutes to fill out and will be administered during school hours.
The Planet Youth surveys have been implemented worldwide since 2006 and in Iceland since 1992. The survey has produced results vital to those working with young people, providing information that has been used as a basis in policymaking and prevention work amongst those working to improve the health and well-being of youth.
The main focus of the studies has been the same from the start and includes relationships with friends and family, sports participation and extracurricular activities, social life, health, substance use, bullying, future expectations, sleep, and strain, along with other important factors. Once surveys are completed, the outcome is processed by Planet Youth, and reports are made available within eight weeks. | | | | National Honor Society at Cascade High SchoolAny 10th or 11th grade student that has a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher and is a full time student at Cascade Sr High school may apply to be a member of NHS. It's Okay!Dear families, If you were out supporting our Ramblers and unable to attend the meeting about the travel opportunity to Dublin and London last week, no worries!
If you didn't get a chance to share with me your interest in the tour, please email me directly and I will send you the information I shared at the meeting. If you have additional questions or would like to meet with me directly, let me know!
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
I'm excited to share this opportunity with all high school students who are interested!
Psst...did you know, as a parent, you can sign up to go as well!

| | | Building Social Skills for School SuccessSocial skills are just as important as academic skills for school success. Children with disabilities may need extra support in areas like making friends, understanding social cues, or participating in group activities. Parents can help by modeling appropriate behavior, practicing social interactions at home, and encouraging playdates or extracurricular activities to build confidence.
